From the parking lot take the road on the left, through the characteristic and typical Borgata di Cima Sappada, following the signs for the Sorgenti del Piave. Once the village is over, the well-marked road to the Sorgenti begins; from here you can put on snowshoes. The first stretch is flat and presents no particular difficulty.
At the first fork, characterized by the presence of a crucifix, keep left and always follow the signs for the Sorgenti del Piave.
The road begins to climb gently to the bridge over the Piave River. This stretch is the most challenging, but you will surely be rewarded by the beauty of the landscape.
After a climb and some hairpin bends you will arrive at the Piani del Cristo Refuge (closed in winter).
Continuing along the same road you will reach the Baita Rododendro, the destination of our trip. The return is planned along the same route.
