The Puanina Tour is a route with a strong identity that highlights the deep bonds between the people and their territory. The name “Puanina” in the local language indicates the mountain and its pastures. It is the name with which the people of Ugovizza jealously identify “their mountain”, a land of ancient traditions, farming life, songs in Slovenian and German, and centuries-old relationships with the forest.
The Puanina Tour thematic route will lead you to the Alps of Ugovizza, in the heart of Valcanale, a vibrant area where rearing breeding is carried out with traditional methods and where the number of cattle raised has not decreased compared to the past.
Along the way, you will find special signs with testimonies of the farming life of the past. These images of that not-too-distant past represent the people’s roots and their centuries-old culture.

The Puanina Tour is a circular route that can be undertaken starting on foot precisely from the village of Ugovizza, where there are two access points, both located in the centre of the village: the first approaches the path towards Malga Prju and Val Rauna and the second starts in the opposite direction, towards Cristo and the Agriturismo Gacceman. On the other hand, those who want to shorten the walk can take the many entry points along the municipal road (suitable for cars), using the many parking lots.
