The
Fleons Gorge, from which the Degano stream springs, can be reached from Pierabech following the
CAI (Italian Alpine Path)
path no. 140 with a half-an-hour walk in the forest; proceeding in the Fleons Valley you will find trenches and fortifications dating back to the
First World War: here the Italian and Austrian armies faced each other.
At the beginning of the 1970s, after careful geological and water analyses, the water of this stream gave life to the "
Goccia di Carnia" plant, which produces table water low in mineral content.
This area provides nature lovers with the possibility to go on many
hikes and
mountain bike tours.
