The Associazione Guide Turistiche del Friuli Venezia Giulia (Friuli Venezia Giulia's Tourist Guides Association), one of the oldest in Italy, was founded in 1955, the year in which the first guides operating on the territory were qualified as professionals. Since then it has comprised a high number of professionals listed in the regional Register, many of whom are also tourist escorts, residing in Friuli Venezia Giulia and able to deal with all the requests for guided visits in the region in the major European languages. It collaborates with public and private entities and operators in order to promote the tourism offer and enhance the regional territory.
