The multimedia Museum of the Great War set up inside the former train station Fogliano Redipuglia is a unique exhibition of its kind in Italy. The events of the conflict are told "taking advantage" of the power of images and the emotions that only images can give thanks to their accurate reconstruction in enhanced reality.
The interactive visit can be done using a smartphone (through the Qrcode or the NFC chip) or following the story narrated by six characters that thanks to the enhanced reality, take life and interact with the visitor: the red cross worker, the Italian soldier, the assault infantryman, the Austrian, the Alpine and the Duke of Aosta (who is made even more real by the use of his actual voice).
For each year of the war, a vertical installation was also dedicated to the first page of a newspaper of the era (whose images come alive under the gaze of the visitor), a short text on the progress of the war in Europe, an in-depth study about the Italian front and a photographic itinerary about that year of the war, including some three-dimensional images.
To complete the multimedia apparatus there are three touch screen stations which allow visitors to take advantage of the museum's rich photographic collection in an autonomous way (over 1200 images), through a tag device to research the elements of interest.
