Pesariis, the town of clocks

I am the “slow” one: the one that brings up the rear, who lingers to immortalize, from behind, the step of those who precede me as they begin to reach the destination. The one that friends look for behind them, who catches them up breathlessly, smiling for what I have seen and for the memories I have imprinted: in spirit and the memory card of my faithful devices. Getting to know places takes time and right here, in Val Pesarina - the valley of time, "time" is what it takes. This is the only way one can grasp the beauty and poetry of the monumental clocks that Pesariis reveals among its narrow alleys; this is the only way to hear the subdued song of the stones of the houses. Despite the rain: a rhythm punctuated by drops, steps and seconds that slip away, like water on the petals of flowers climbing the buildings. It is raining, but this does not make it less beautiful here, indeed, perhaps there is even more poetry, in the silent streets and in a crackling fire that you can glimpse through a window. It's raining, but you can still wait for the melody of the music box in front of the church: while it plays, not far away, some inhabitants accompany its eleven bells with their singing. It takes time to taste the wine and the good food: the aromas of the traditional recipes, which speak of asparagus, polenta and mountain radicchio. Only if you find time to listen, will you discover from the locals that the roses that accompanied you in your wandering around the countryside with your head in the air, are the gift of an inhabitant of Treviso who found his home here among these stones also finding a home for his creativity. Just one day of holiday with the promise to return as soon as possible to visit the Museum of watchmaking, and the project devoted to the renovation of a route amid nature: the precious dial of precious moments, surrounded by clocks, without ever wondering what time it is.

I was born in Trieste, where I went to art school, then in 2004 I left my job with the La Contrada repertory theatre and moved. I work in the mass retailing sector but I still love the world of culture and exploring my surroundings. I indulge my passions by singing in a gospel choir and writing.
