A day of therapeutic “wintage” shopping

It has been proven by science: shopping relieves anxiety and increases self-esteem and if done in an intelligent way and especially with little impact on the environment, I believe it brings you satisfaction and happiness.
So, on Saturday, a friend and I, attracted by the words “good second-hand clothes festival”, decided to go and browse through what was on offer at “Wintage Advantage” in San Vito al Tagliamento (PN).

When we arrived, we went straight to the Complesso dei Battuti, the seat of the ancient 14th century hospital, now entirely restored and dedicated to hosting events and exhibitions. As soon as we entered, we felt the enthusiasm of the sellers and customers in search of the right purchase at a fair price: not only clothes but also accessories, bags, shoes and outerwear were carefully displayed and skilfully described by their legitimate owners.
At the Complesso dei Battuti, there were the most recent and modern offers: accessories and many little used or practically new clothes that I wanted to give a second life. “Wintage Advantage” was also taking place in two other buildings in the centre of San Vito al Tagliamento, including the Castle. So, the shopping spree naturally had to continue and, here, to my great surprise, I found vintage sunglasses and optical frames! The last location, Palazzo Zuccheri. The amazing rooms of Palazzo Zuccheri were displaying vintage clothes and accessories from the 1920s to the 1990s, with some absolute novelties such as new hand-made jewellery, which the sellers suggested to match. The day ended with some excellent purchases.

For me, “Wintage Advantage” was like delving into the past through places and objects: I think that the idea of giving precious clothes and accessories a second life is simple yet just as contemporary and fantastic. For the next edition, I might even join the team of sellers. It was a wonderful "therapeutic” day.

Isabella Miatto

I'm a girl from the south of the Friuli region. I was born in the small hamlet of Malisana (UD), and now live in San Giorgio di Nogaro (UD).
I am a curious little blonde who loves her region and doesn't miss an opportunity to talk about places, festivals and traditions to acquaintances and friends.
Not necessarily in any order of priority, I love sport, travelling - especially discovering small things - coffee, good food and wine, events, thrills, the sun... and my land.
