Merlot, a Friulian jewel with a French heart, just waiting to be discovered. Born in Bordeaux, this grape variety has found its homeland in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Since 1880, it has become the undisputed king of regional reds thanks to Senator Pecile and Count Di Brazzà. Its intense ruby colour conceals aromas of red fruits and spices. On the palate, it offers structure and flavour that improve with age. Perfect with red meat and cheese, Friulian Merlot is today the most widespread black grape variety in the Region.
