Rare as gold, Marasca honey is one of the pearls of the Trieste and Gorizia Karst, obtained from the nectar of the Mahaleb cherry tree, which finds an ideal microclimate in this particular area. Amber in colour with reddish highlights, it has a delicate aroma and a bitter, almond flavour. The short flowering period, the limited distribution of the cherry tree and the challenges of a changing territory make production extremely limited, which is why this product is protected by the Slow Food Presidium programme.
