Antico Molino F.lli Persello

Molino Persello was founded in 1928 by Nicolò Persello, who took over an old disused mill near the Rio Vena stream, dismantled the millstones, transported them to the current site, and converted it into one of the first electric mills in the region.

Over time, thanks to our family’s passion and hard work, Molino Persello has remained just as it was when it was founded, among the green hills of Friuli: a living machine made of wood, leather, and iron, sensitive to the seasons and to climate changes. The love for the ancient craft of milling, and for good, natural, high-quality products, has remained the same for four generations.

For this reason, Molino Persello carefully selects only grains from the best farmers in Friuli, in order to offer healthy, genuine local products.

In recent years, the company has committed itself to recovering and using ancient grain varieties, involving local farmers in the project and, subsequently, local artisans in transforming the flours into pasta, confectionery products, and baked goods.

The mill offers a wide selection of flours: from those for bread, pasta, and polenta to those for desserts and pizza, along with various mixes that help everyone feel like a perfect baker.

In keeping with the times and with its philosophy, the mill also offers an organic line with certified products.

The company’s flagship product is certainly its ready-to-use polenta: made exclusively from corn grown in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with no preservatives, colourings, or additives. Available in three varieties — Yellow, Ancient Red, and White — it is ideal as an accompaniment to meat, fish, cheese, and the typical Friulian potato frico.

Alongside these products, we also offer an increasingly wide range of good, natural local specialities, in search of the most authentic gastronomic traditions. Together with the flours, you will also find our biscuits and corn breadsticks, ancient-grain pasta, extra virgin olive oil, Friulian rice, local honey, vegetables in oil, cereals, and many other delicacies, always offered with the same passion and attention to quality that set us apart.
