The route takes place in an area dotted with numerous wineries where you can make a stop to discover the DOC wines of Latisana. The Gorgo di Latisana area is also an ideal place for the cultivation ofWhite Asparagus, one of Friuli Venezia Giulia's excellences, whose presence in the region has been documented since the time of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
RECOMMENDED DISH: Asparagus and hard-boiled eggs.
Itinerary
The loop begins in Lignano Sabbiadoro, a renowned seaside resort that is located near the mouth of the Tagliamento River. Riding up the course of the Tagliamento River, you will pedal in the direction of Latisana, a small town with a Venetian atmosphere. In Precenicco, following the course of the Stella River almost to its mouth, we return to Lignano following the bends of the river and some stretches of the lagoon.
The route includes crossing the bridge over the Venetian coastline at Bevazzana, which is open to bicycles at certain times present in the DETAILS section.
Route suitable for all types of bikes, excluding road bikes.

Mixed route, mostly paved, on traffic-free back roads and bike path.
Insignificant overall elevation gain, totally flat route with little shade. In the summer months the route can be shortened thanks to the Latisana-Lignano Bicibus service. The route includes crossing the bridge over the Venetian shoreline at Bevazzana open to bicycles at the following times:
Spring (March 1 to April 30): 8-10 / 13-15 / 17-19
Summer (May 1 to September 15): 8-10 / 13-14 / 18-19
Autumn (September 16 to November 15): 8-10 / 13-15 / 18-19
Winter (November 16 to February 28): 8-10 / 13-15 / 18-19

Daily Bicibus service in July and August from Udine to Lignano Sabbiadoro with stops in Muzzana del Turgnano and Latisana.
