Mount Flop is divided into two peaks: the east peak 1715 m and the west peak 1792 m joined by a gentle ridge traversed by a beautiful path that allows panoramic views of the Alba Valley and all the Syracuse mountains.
Reached via the path that climbs from the Grauzaria refuge, the peak that is the destination of this hike is a place rich in flora and fauna in the presence of the marvelous walls of Mount Sernio and Creta della Grauzaria, historic peaks known to mountaineers for their historical frequentation.
The ascent allows one to traverse very different environments, from pine forest to high-altitude meadow, encountering countless floristic species such as gentiansand orchids.
The panorama unfolds between the peaks of the Sernio and Grauzaria group, then opening up to the heights of Zermula, Creta di Aip, Cavallo di Pontebba and the Julian Alps all in sweeping views.

    Safety information

Hike not to be undertaken in case of uncertain weather (the upper part is exposed to lightning and the steep terrain can become very slippery with rains) or icy ground.

Upper part of the trail and particularly to reach the top of Mt. Flop, a minimum of steady step and absence of vertigo are required in some places.

There are almost no water sources along the loop; on particularly hot days consider having an adequate amount of water resources with you.

    Tips and suggestions

The summit of West Flop Mountain can be reached by a trail from the creek between the two if you wish to add this climb to the hike as well.
If you wish to simplify the exit, you can reach Rif. Grauzaria, continue to the Foran da Gjaline, and close the short loop of the Trail da Gjaline on site by returning from the access trail.
