Emerald puddle trail

From the Sottrivea Picnic Area located by the Meduna riverbed, one leads to the entrance of the Strada da Lis Fornas trail, an educational and hiking trail identifiable by the presence of an explanatory panel and a pedestrian entrance gate. Climbing between hairpin bends, you come to the plateau where the Borgo Titol farm stands, which you pass to resume the trail to a viewpoint over the Meduna stream. You ascend through an ash wood and, after crossing another pedestrian gate, enter an artificial spruce forest to the Casolari di Curs. Descending successively with two switchbacks you reach a meadow that leads to the paved road. Follow it to the left passing the Pradiél hamlet and, after a short descent, you reach the bridge where there is a sign to reach the Pradiél Mill below and not far away. Returning to the bridge, take the main road again to the left, which then gives way to a forest track that enters the Meduna Canal until it stops at a square. From here it is possible to continue following the riverbed for about fifty meters, thus reaching the first Pozze Smeraldine, generated by natural barrages of gravel accumulations that are transported and deposited by the force of the waters during seasonal floods. From the same esplanade it is also recommended to follow the wide mule track that leads in a short time to a steel bridge (Ponte Rusubet), from which one can admire the waterfall generated by the Rug (Rio) of Ira and the Pozze Smeraldine with a panoramic view. On the way back, follow the main road and, once you reach the village of Tramonti di Sopra, follow the signs again (downhill to the right) of the Strada da lis Fornas trail, by which you return to the Sottrivea Picnic Area.
