Simple loop hike through three viewpoints to get acquainted with the surroundings of Lake Barcis.
Looking at the Cellina Gorge Reserve Visitor Center , we take the road-lake on the right to the bend where trail marker 997 comes off uphill. From here we follow the trail: we pass the Rain Well; we arrive at the first belvedere (450 m) on Lake Barcis and Ponte Antoi dam; then at the second belvedere (440 m) on the terminal section of the Cellina Gorge; finally at the third belvedere 521 m), a red spiral staircase that offers a nice view of Lake Barcis and one of the village of Andreis. From the third belvedere we continue on the trail for the counterintuitive descent to the east. Red-white signs lead us to a junction, where we take a left. After a stretch of trail, a pleasant asphalt road takes us to Forcella Dint (462 m) and then to Lake Barcis and the parking lot (you can take the first shortcut, but not the second - Sentiero dei Pescatori).
We recommend organizing the day to also do the tour/walk of the Old Valcellina Road (the access point is the same from which this hike begins).
The tour can be shortened in various ways, but we recommend doing it in its entirety.
