Challenging loop route, with ascent to the peaks of Bivera and Clap Savon and passage to Casere Montemaggiore and Tragonia, in the Valley of Forni di Sopra
The proposed hike is a long high-altitude ride that reaches from theRazzo plateau to the top of the Bivera and Clap Savon mountains, returning to the starting point via the Montemaggiore and Tragonia malga with the interesting variants of Forcella Forada and Forca Rossa. Route integrally requires excellent training due to the large elevation gain.
The gentle alpine pastures of the first part are followed by glabrous screes and the fascinating peaks of Bivera and Clap Savon.
The descent to C.ra Montemaggiore and the ascent to F.lla Forada are gems of naturalness, as is the splendid little valley of Rio Tolina towards Malga Tragonia.
With some effort, the last ascent brings you in sight of the rocky Tiarfin, from which you descend by steep scree slope and then into the bush to the starting point.
Possibility of breaking the itinerary by staying overnight at Malga Tragonia, which also offers food service.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
The ridge section that leads from the Bivera Fork to the top of Clap Savon presents some exposed sections, however, devoid of mountaineering difficulties and facilitated by the presence of a fixed rope. The stretch Forcella Bivera - Forcella Cjansaveit, in fact, does not follow a CAI path but the tracks are nevertheless very evident.
The descent from Forcella Cjansaveit to the Montemaggiore malga, as well as the ascent to Forcella Forada, requires attention for the correct identification of the trails, which are sometimes grassy (CAI trails 210 and 211a).
The descent from Forcella Tiarfin to Casera Razzo is initially steep on gravel to contiunuate on a path sometimes rich in vegetation (CAI 208).
If necessary, the route can be shortened by returning toward Casera Razzo either at Forcella Cjansaveit or at Forcella della Croce di Tragonia.
