Away from the crowded Dolomites, a real hiking adventure that in 4 days touches the Giaf, Pacherini, Pordenone and Padova refuges, crossing at high altitude the wonderful and wild valleys hidden among the Pramaggiore, Monfalconi, Spalti di Toro and Cridola groups, with numerous variant possibilities, with different difficulties and commitment, and also with the possibility of alpine climbs on spires and peaks. The loop can be done in several days, depending on personal ability and the number of stops. The classic four-day route is proposed here in four stages, one for each hut, to be reached clockwise so as to avoid too many impervious climbs. The loop allows full enjoyment of the pristine landscape.

    Author’s recommendation

The first step to take, after deciding on the dates for this adventure, is to contact the 4 shelters to book the various nights, specifying on which date you intend to sleep in that shelter, usually you choose half board, which then includes dinner, overnight stay and breakfast, on request you can also have a package for lunch the next day.

    Equipment

The requirements are a bit of training before departure, a bit of attention in the riskiest spots and a good dose of adventurous spirit. No equipment then, but just a few details to know: three to six hours of travel each day and 500 to 1,100 meters of elevation gain always per day.
