Free flight: paragliding in Gemona

It was a special Saturday that I enjyed together with friends of the Volo libero association at Gemona del Friuli, on the occasion of the final day of the Friulian stage of the paragliding world championships. Having the opportunity to participate in the preparations of the many athletes arrived from all over the world to fly in our skies, is a really interesting experience that makes you understand how much attention and preparation there is behind this wonderful sport. Seeing so many wings taking off and flying is a breathtaking spectacle, believe me. But the best experience was being able to try a flight in tandem with one of the association’s instructors. After a preparatory briefing we took off and with a complete sense of safety we circled above the skies of Gemona; seeing the world from above in an almost unreal silence is an experience for which the word “unique” is not enough. After almost an hour of flight (in some moments accompanied by a griffin) we landed gently just outside Gemona. I can only thank the people at the association for the unforgettable day and I recommend everyone try the free flight experience at least once... you will not regret it. One final word to define the day: FANTASTIC!
