Photography, humanity and territory at Pordenone

As an enthusiast of photography and of the city of Pordenone, I was present at the inauguration of the photographic exhibition entitled “Defigurazione - I tuoi occhi per vedermi” by the Friulian photographer Danilo De Marco. I absolutely did not want to miss this event at the wonderful Galleria Harry Bertoia.. Galleria Harry Bertoia., the exhibition presents portraits of well-known and unknown people; each of them with their own outlook of the world.

More than a hundred faces to tell the story of a lifetime, immortalised by the camera of De Marco who has dedicated the last thirty years to travelling around the world. There are no self-portraits, because as the artist says, he is there in every shot, in the pupil of the person he portrays. I do not want to say anything else about the exhibition, so that everyone can appreciate it with their own eyes.

A particularity of this exhibition is its integration with the territory: there are various excursions planned to explore and get to know some of the most evocative places in western Friuli. Itineraries to experience the natural features of the landscape, the traces of the past and the most important cultural moments. After a visit to a local activity linked to the cultivation or creation of products of excellence, there will be a personalised guided tour of the exhibition that will be open until the end of May.
