The climb is rewarding, with a 360-degree view of the mountains: a marvel!
A chat, a greeting, lots of photos, a tumble, a trace in the snow, icicles melting in the almost spring-like temperatures.
Our hair is all untidy, free and happy like us. We set off laughing. An alder with new flowers and pine cones from last autumn hypnotise us already after just a few metres. A good sweat, puffing away, a bit of effort and we are already on the trail.
We see a ski instructor come down like a mother duck with his ducklings in tow, drawing a sinuous, almost snake-like line as he goes. They stop right in front of us as we are about to remove the skins from our skis: “Here, children”, the teacher begins when everyone is still and settled, “now these two girls will show us what the skins to climb a mountain with skis are made of and how they work”.
We then set off for a beautiful, long, soft ski, up as far as the main chairlift of the Ravascletto-Zoncolan ski resort where we a good sandwich awaits us: roast pork, aubergines, cheese. Excellent!
On the outdoor terrace we say goodbye to friends and meet a Chinese family on holiday and also skiers from Poland who take a picture; the have even come from Szczecin, near the Baltic Sea. In short, a multiethnic Zoncolan and Carnia.
A perfect day to end with a warming bombardino eggnog!
