Discovering Santa Margherita del Gruagno

Four kilometres and three hundred metres with which “to fall in love”. A short stretch of land that three times folds back on itself to create three spaces for lovers of relaxation, suntans, underwater fishing, castles, walks along rural paths, but also simple an aperitif at sunset. Without forgetting too that there’s even a place for all those aged 18 to 60 who want to dance the night away.
Where are we?
In the province of Trieste, between Duino, with the splendour of Villa Gruber, the Dama Bianca and the Castle of the Princes von Thurm und Taxis. Here, by car or on foot following the Rilke trail one arrives at what has since the time of Mina and Modugno been called the Bay of Sistiana. I consider the sunset enjoyed from the restaurant to be a real spectacle, one of the most beautiful postcards our Friuli Venezia Giulia offers of the sea.
Going to the right, you arrive at the vecchia Caravella, where “Mille bolle blu” and “Volare” have been replaced by a real fun resort, with two evening venues and a restaurant on the sea.
On the left, instead, after passing two modern bathing establishments, here is the latest arrival: Portopiccolo.
This new centre offers every creature comfort, from a five-star hotel to a top-level spa and a fine concept beach club, with a restaurant and fabulous sea view. Try it see!
