Museum of the Great War of Ragogna

The Museum of the Great War of Ragogna is housed by the Cultural Centre and Public Library in San Giacomo di Ragogna, at the former elementary school "Romeo Battistig". Created under the interregional project "The places of the Great War on the Friulian hills", it integrates the visit to the four itineraries of the open-air museum with a description of the events that occurred in this area. The museum offers also information to get a better understanding of this area, such as a history of pre-war fortifications, the reconstruction of the village after 1918 and the preservation of historical memory.

Information panels are accompanied by various battlefields artefacts and pictures of that period. Two showcases stand in the middle of the room: the first one contains a model reproducing the battlefield including all information about 31st October 1917, while the second holds a reconstruction of the battle on Mt. Ragogna and Mt. Cornino, copies of documents of that period and a chart with all areas of interest in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The museum is temporarily closed for renovation works
