Tarvisio is a constant sporting challenge, but also an invitation to share. The Three Borders become the European heart of Alpine skiing—a meeting place where competition, respect, and collaboration merge. When the snow falls and silence embraces the forests, the Di Prampero turns into an elite training ground for national ski teams, and a natural spectacle for spectators. During international competitions, Tarvisio brims with adrenaline, as fans from across Europe gather in a race village set right at the foot of the slopes.
The first Women’s World Cup in Tarvisio took place in 2007: the Super G went to Austria’s Goetschl, the downhill to American star Mancuso, and the combined to another Austrian, Hosp. The event returned in 2009, when the legendary Lindsey Vonn claimed the Super G, while Germany took both the downhill (Stechert) and the combined (Riesch). Finally, in 2011, Vonn once again triumphed in the Super G, Sweden’s Paerson won the downhill, and Slovenia’s Maze captured the combined.
