A simple path that leads through a majestic beech forest to the foot of the Rio Barman waterfall, visible in all its wild beauty in a fairy-tale setting. The upper part of the northern side of the Musi Mountains, of karst nature, collects most of the precipitation that flows to the base, either running in surface streams through very steep couloir or through sinkholes and underground galleries, which give rise to many springs. The most important and impressive is the picturesque Fontanone Barman.
The water emerges from numerous springs; on the vertical rock walls that close in a semicircle like a well, a series of roaring waterfalls form, with a total drop of 70 meters. The crystalline waters form a blue lake carved into the rock, offering a beautiful spectacle that has inspired Resian fairy tales and legends. From here, the Rio Barman originates and develops along a narrow valley, and after a short course, flows into the Resia stream.
