The Poti po näs is a long trail, which can also be walked in single pieces, connecting all the hamlets of the Resia Valley via the ancient paths once traveled.
Poti po näs is not just an itinerary, but a project that allowed the rediscovery of the ancient paths that connected the many hamlets of the Resia Valley.
In the version proposed here, it corresponds to the union of two magnificent routes in the valley: Ta Lipa Pot (the beautiful road) and Ta Stara Pot (the old road), which together create a route of over 21km.
With the start set in Prato di Resia, first we ride Ta Stara Pot (14km) to the village of Braida from which we then take Ta Lipa Pot (about 7km) to the distant hamlet of Stolvizza, then return again to the first route and return to Prato.
This large loop can be customized by shortening some sections or adding others as needed.
Poti po näs is a loop of extraordinary cultural and historical value but also of great naturalistic appeal. You cross crystal-clear water streams, flower-filled meadows and quiet forests where you can see numerous animal species.
To have a complete experience on the uniqueness of the Resia Valley, it is highly recommended to visit the museums of the Resia Valley and the visitor center of the Julian Pre-Alps Nature Park and to consume some typical dishes in one of the restaurants in the valley.
