Attimis
Attimis is a town of the Colli orientali del Friuli (Friuli's Eastern hills - 195 metres a.s.l.) characterised by an important medieval heritage.
The charming ruins of the upper and lower castles of Attimis, as well as the near fortresses of Partistagno, Zucco and Cucagna, can be reached on foot. Attimis also offers various religious and nature tours to the discovery of churches and plants.
The Medieval Archaeological Museum, or "Museum of the Land of the Nine Castles", recreates the atmosphere of everyday life in the feudal age thanks to its large collection of finds and weapons and displays some remarkable examples of medieval sculpture.
Attimis also provides evidence of recent history with the national monument of the malghe (huts) of Porzûs, which staged the massacre of partisans of 1945.
The area of Attimis is famous for its excellent wines.
