Continuing on the same road heading to the Church of San Rocco, you can reach the plateau of Mt. Prat, a place of great natural interest. Like San Rocco, this was also the setting of several battles between the Austro-German troops and the Lombardy Brigade in early November 1917.
The road continues to the Tochel Valley, where the first German troops from Carnia arrived on 05th November 1917. After a fork at 894m ASL, take a road on the right to Trasaghis and head to Cuel di Forchia, the starting point of the trail leading to the summit of Mt. Cuar (1478m ASL). Here, you can observe several military communication lines that worked as a rear defensive line between Mt. Cuar and Mt. Flagjel.
On the summit, you can also see the remnants of a local observation post and enjoy great views of the surrounding heights and the Upper and Central Tagliamento.
