A journey in which the poetic word becomes a threshold, a space of passage between belonging and distance, roots and loss, in a sonic and poetic journey that traverses identities and memories between nineteenth and twentieth-century Italy. Pizzetti's intense works on texts by D'Annunzio and those of the Three Greek Songs explore a musical language suspended between modernity and memory. Respighi's Deità silvane, on the other hand, reveals a refined twentieth-century style that transforms the classical past into an interior and visionary landscape, where the boundary between memory and dream continually dissolves. The heart of the concert is the Lyrics of Troubadour and the Three Songs of Exile by Ennio Porrino, a student of Respighi, to whom the duo has dedicated an album: here, the theme of the border becomes a profound reflection on inner exile, memory, and lost identity. The theme connects to Napoleon's story and his years of exile, first on Elba and then on Saint Helena: a historical symbol of distance and downfall, but also of the transformation of personal memory into collective myth. In this dialogue between music and words, exile is not merely a geographical separation, but a condition of the human soul.
