The attention that the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region gives to cycling and sustainability led to the implementation of the Regional Cycling Mobility Plan (PREMOCI), where nine cycle routes and territorial Biciplans have been identified.
In addition to the stage itineraries, regional cycle routes of touristic interest are described in this section, two of which are included in the European network:
- the famous and award-winning Alpe Adria Cycle Route (FVG1), which connects Salzburg with Grado
- the Adriatic Sea Cycle Route (FVG2), which traces parts of the Adriabike Cycle Route, linking Gorizia, Trieste and Venice with Ravenna from Slovenia, and also of the EuroVelo 8 Mediterranean Route, running from Cadiz to Athens
