Nimis

Situated among woods and gentle hills, Nimis, an ancient Roman fortification and today a land of excellent wines from the Colli Orientali del Friuli (Friuli's Eastern Hills) area, is full of silent paths immersed in amazing nature for pleasant hikes.

The clear and calm waters of the Cornappo flow in these valleys and are the ideal habitat for trout.

Nimis is considered the land of Ramandolo, an excellent white wine that was the first wine from Friuli to obtain the DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) label.

The Parish Church of Saints Gervasius and Protasius is one of Friuli's oldest churches.

Just outside the town you will find the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Pianelle. Here, every year around 8th September, the Festival of Little Bells is celebrated.
