On provincial road SP76, between the village of Cave del Predil and Raibl Lake (Municipality of Tarvisio), you can visit a small cemetery that, besides serving the local population, includes an ossuary containing the remains of 281 Italian soldiers, Austrian recruits and volunteers of the Great War. A plaque at the entrance of the graveyard reminds that the ossuary is found here and can be seen on the top of the hill on the right.
The ossuary was built by a local construction company after the war was over and is periodically maintained by the Austrian Association of the Black Cross. Generally, it can only be seen from outside, except on All Saints' Day (November 02nd) and September 04th, St. Barbara's Day, when a ceremony is held with the laying of a laurel wreath.
