Showreel cimitero britannico Tavagnacco_provv

British cemetery of Tavagnacco

Adegliacco, a hamlet within the Municipality of Tavagnacco, in the northern outskirts of Udine, is home to the only British War Cemetery in Friuli, housing the remains of allied soldiers who fell in the area during WW II. It accommodates 415 soldiers from various English-speaking countries (UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) who lost their lives near Udine in 1945 while fighting against the Nazi-fascist troops. Among the various tombs, you can find also a monument in honour of the only soldier fallen in the Great War buried here, a body with no name whose remains were moved here from a dismissed cemetery in Versa, a hamlet of Romans d'Isonzo (GO).
