Principato di Ariis

This romantic place saw the birth of a love so tormented and strong that it inspired Shakespeare to write one of the most famous stories in the world: Romeo and Juliet!

The place is Ariis di Rivignano, renowned not only for the winding Stella river that crosses it but also for the story of Lucina Savorgnan and her love for Luigi Da Porto, who lived in these very places. In particular, Villa Ottelio, home of the Savorgnan family, surrounded by its beautiful park, where this tormented love story took place.

Ristorante Principato di Ariis is situated in this charming setting, halfway between the beach of Lignano Sabbiadoro and the chief city of Friuli. Right here, in a romantic atmosphere of bygone days, a perfect American-style wedding can be organised along the riverbank.

The most fascinating thing about Ariis is the opportunity to get married in the local church, take photos in the park, close to the river, and eat in the historical restaurant that has been run by Tiziana and Claudio since 2003.
Its four dining rooms have seating for up to 200 guests. The wine list, with about 80 labels, mainly includes red wines from all over Friuli and beyond. The bride and groom can spend their wedding night in one of the rooms of the villa.
