Il romanzo è il sesto di una saga di gialli medievali, ed è ambientato nel villaggio di Poltabia (Pontebba). Narra le vicende dell’investigatore Martino da Fior, che deve cercare la verità in un miscuglio di menzogne, invidie, sotterfugi e violenze in un caso intricato di due coppie di coniugi.
