TRAVELING TRISKELL - XXVI Trieste International Festival of Celtic Music and Culture

As part of the "TRISKELL FESTIVAL", now in its 26th year, the packed programme of events includes the "TRISKELL ITINERANTE", which features performances at various venues across Trieste and the surrounding area.

On Saturday 1st August, the seventh itinerant stage is part of the “Trieste Estate” festival and brings an Irish dance show with the Accademia Gens d'Ys to the heart of the city in Piazza Verdi.

The Academy has for many years enjoyed the patronage of the Irish Embassy in Italy, various successive ministries, and, since 2011, that of the Irish National Tourist Board, of which it is an Official Ambassador. It also collaborates with the new Irish Consulate General in Milan. They have 40 Irish dance schools across Italy.
Their shows are among the most eagerly awaited and popular events at Triskell, which is why they have been deliberately staged in the city centre, to delight the crowds gathered in the square as well.
