Ingrid Kuris (Akis)'s painting stems from the belief that Greek mythology still offers relevant insights into the contemporary world: the global economy, the intimate dimension of existence and the fragile balance of nature, put to the test by human shortcomings.
The Minotaur becomes a symbol of blind and indifferent power, while her works evoke the possibility of rebirth and the recovery of lost empathy.
For Akis, myth is a mirror of the past, a symbol of the present and a hope for the future: a tool for reflecting on the human condition and rediscovering contact with beauty and nature, the “territory of the soul”.
Figures such as Ariadne, Europa and Sisyphus take on new meanings, becoming metaphors for our inner challenges. Her works combine wonder and denunciation, poetry and ethical force: an invitation to awareness and individual improvement.

Free admission
The exhibition will be open until 27 November, on weekdays and public holidays: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
