The long-standing Maremetraggio section will present 50 short films from all over the world of recent quality production in the evenings planned at the Trieste Public Garden. In 9 days of programming, the Festival will offer a broad overview of the vitality of this language with about 120 international works from the four corners of the world (America, Africa, Asia and Europe) through 6 competitive sections - Maremetraggio, ShorTS Express, Italia in ShorTS, Eco-ShorTS, Shorter Kids'n'Teens, ShorTS Immersive and at the same time will propose a rich calendar of collateral events.
The Festival will flank: ShorTS Express a space for 12 shorts of a maximum length of 5' (excluding the end credits) competing for a prize awarded by the public; Italia in ShorTS which will include 12 Made in Italy shorts competing for, among others, the prize awarded by AMC - Film Editing Association; while Eco-ShorTS will welcome 10 international environmentally-themed shorts with a prize awarded by the public. These 4 “cardinal” sections will be curated by Massimiliano Nardulli. There will also be a panel-meeting on the international panorama of short film production, distribution and aesthetics, with the participation of directors and producers coming to Trieste.
