La notte del 26 aprile 1986 una serie di esplosioni distrusse il reattore 4 della centrale di Chernobyl. In pochi minuti un errore umano si trasformò nel più grave disastro nucleare del Novecento, pari solo a quello di Fukushima di 25 anni dopo. La nube radioattiva contaminò un’area tuttora quasi disabitata e attraversò l’Europa, fino agli Stati Uniti. In scena, le voci delle donne raccontano le storie delle vittime, tratte da Preghiera per Chernobyl di Svjatlana Aleksievič, evocando un fantasma che incombe ancora sul presente dell’umanità, sospesa tra macerie del passato e vertigini del futuro.
