Kajetan Schnablegger fu il personaggio più in vista della Valcanale di fine ottocento. Istrionico e versatile imprenditore, proprietario terriero e direttore della miniera di Raibl, accumulò enormi ricchezze e fu per anni Sindaco di Tarvisio e Consigliere regionale della Carinzia. Innovatore in ogni ambito da lui toccato, a lui si deve la nascita del turismo in Valcanale. Costruì in tutta la valle alberghi di lusso per l’aristocrazia danubiana ed ebbe l’idea di creare annunci pubblicitari per promuove il turismo in valle. Scopriremo una personalità eclettica che ci farà forse vedere con occhi diversi la società tarvisiana negli ultimi anni del dominio asburgico.
