A Sauris, località unica per la sua storia e le antiche tradizioni, anche il Carnevale non può che essere suggestivo.
La particolarità di questa tradizionale usanza è data dalle maschere in legno e dai travestimenti tipici, confezionati con fantasia, utilizzando ogni sorta di materiale e indumento trovato in casa e nelle soffitte.
Arrivata la sera, il corteo di maschere e spettatori, guidato dalle due figure principali, il Rölar e il Kheirar, intraprenderà una suggestiva camminata notturna nel bosco, alla luce delle lanterne. Da Sauris di Sopra si giungerà così a Sauris di Sotto, dove la festa proseguirà con musica, balli e buona gastronomia.
