Trieste, 2007. Fredrika, detta Fred, diciottenne svedese carismatica e coraggiosa, arriva in città per frequentare l’ultimo anno di un istituto tecnico. Unica ragazza in una classe tutta maschile, attira subito l’attenzione di tre amici inseparabili: Antero, affascinante e riservato; Pasini, esuberante e provocatore; Mitis, bonaccione protettivo. La sua presenza incrina gli equilibri del gruppo e mette alla prova un’amicizia costruita negli anni. Mentre i ragazzi proiettano su di lei desideri e aspettative, Fred cerca semplicemente di trovare il proprio posto senza rinunciare a sé stessa.
