Il monte Purgessimo, Karkoš in sloveno e Vuespit in friulano, è stato per secoli sentinella e difesa da incursioni straniere.
Lungo le sue pendici si trova un Bunker della Guerra Fredda detto “Galleria di Purgessimo”. Si tratta di uno dei pochi esempi di manufatto in caverna, in carico alla Fanteria d’Arresto dell’Esercito Italiano, pienamente utilizzato durante la Guerra Fredda, ora di proprietà privata.
In questa visita il Bunker verrà esplorato in tutta la sua estensione.
