This is a full immersion in the landscape of the Karst, which, thanks to the various sites that can be visited, particularly highlights the side of the Great War defined as "Trench Warfare". The Karst terrain, with its particular geological conformation, rich in caves and sinkholes, was particularly favourable for the complex defensive structures that were built at that time. There are various points of interest and sites where it is possible to wander among the remains of these constructions, some of which are still clearly visible, without being deprived of the remarkable panoramic viewpoints and the pure natural beauty that the Doberdò/Doberdob and Pietrarossa Lake Nature Reserve offers to tourists and hikers in all seasons.
