The
Valle Cavanata Regional Nature Reserve is situated on the eastern side of the
Grado Lagoon and is easily accessible from the town via a breathtaking bicycle path.
This internationally significant area, once used as a fishing valley, is a true paradise for
birdwatching. It features a variety of habitats, including salt marshes, hygrophilous woodlands, and beaches, providing optimal conditions for
birds to rest and nest.
Special pedestrian and cycling trails offer excellent opportunities to observe these birds in their natural environment. A network of canals, connected to the open sea through adjustable locks, winds through the reserve, bordered by woods and open spaces where numerous animals thrive.
