Heavy snowfalls in November seem to hark back to bygone days. More than a metre of fresh snow covered the mountains of Friuli in the first week of November 2019. There is a high risk of avalanches but on some well-protected routes you can ski safely.
This short video shows the amazing landscape observed on a ski-mountaineering trip in the Varmost ski area on 10th November, with the Friulan Dolomites in view.
