Happy Birthday UNESCO Dolomites

For those who live in the Dolomites, love them, admire them, today is a day of celebration!

Ten years have passed since UNESCO declared our mountains a Natural World Heritage Site. It was June 26th 2009, when the news came from Seville. Since then, a new path has begun for the “Pale Mountains” (Dolomites).

In the Friulian Dolomites, you only need to take a few steps and you will immediately find an unspoilt natural paradise.

Extensive valleys, without main roads and towns, penetrate among the peaks of the Dolomites, making the Natural Park of the Friulian Dolomites a wilderness, ideal for nature hikes and trekking.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of cities and the onslaught of mass hiking, you find yourself in a quiet place, which is important for enhancing the quality of life. Contemplative walks and rock climbing, observing nature or simply relaxing.

Where to stay

David Cappellari

I live in Forni di Sopra, among the Dolomites of Friuli. I love photography and all mountain sports. Through photos and videos, which I take and edit myself, I try to show the beauty of the Upper Tagliamento Valley and the Dolomites of Friuli in all seasons.
