Gravel itinerary on the left bank of the Tagliamento River from Tolmezzo to Lignano Sabbiadoro on dirt roads and the embankment for a bird's-eye view of the Friuli countryside.
The left bank of the Tagliamento River is recommended for lovers of dirt trails: the route passes through San Daniele del Friuli, where the renowned San Daniele ham is produced, which is paired with the Friuli-Grave DOC wines that are produced on the plains bordering the river. Pedaling toward the mouth of the river, one encounters small country towns with houses built with stones collected from the riverbed. Codroipo is home to the Resurgence Nature Park, a unique spring water habitat with a wide variety of plants and flowers, also equipped for a picnic stop. Not far from the center of Codroipo is the 18th-century Villa Manin set in a park with monumental trees. Reaching Latisana, one pedals along the riverbank to its mouth at Lignano Sabbiadoro, a seaside resort with golden sand.

The route is hilly until San Daniele, after which it becomes flat until the mouth of the Tagliamento river (Lignano Sabbiadoro) with a few ups and downs with very gentle slopes. The route winds between asphalt roads, dirt tracks and bicycle paths. Due to the type of dirt road present, this route is suitable for MTBs and gravel bikes.
