From the parking lot in Pian de Céa locality, you enter along the wide and gently sloping gravel valley of the Grave da Giere, at the end of which is the Casera Podestine shelter. Leaving the hut to the left, you enter the bed of the Soraus stream (three crosses commemorate three Calutani who died in the 1940s, caught by a storm while returning from work from the distant Canal Grande). After a short stretch along the streambed, you take the path that climbs the slope characterized by a magnificent beech forest, then emerge and cross some debris channels, finally reaching the Casera Caserata, located just below the homonymous pass. You leave the wonderful wooden hut behind and head to the Forcella Caserata, a pass toward the Canal Piccolo di Meduna. From the pass, a grassy but clear track begins the descent, gradually steeper with some ups and downs and crossing small streams, until reaching the wooded ridge of Costa Pluma. From here, the trail descends in hairpin turns to reach the bed of the Canal Piccolo di Meduna, at the confluence with the Canale del Vuar (Rio del Clapon), near the locality Pineit. The route continues with some ups and downs crossing mixed beech and pine forests, staying at the base of cliffs characterized by smooth rocks and fault surfaces, until reaching, at Selis locality, the shore of the Lake Ciul, at the confluence with the Canal Grande di Meduna. From Selis (obvious traces of a settlement periodically submerged by the lake waters) follow the path leading to a characteristic pedestrian footbridge which allows crossing to the opposite shore, where the trail runs along the lake up to the artificial dam. Beyond the dam, which must not be crossed, the route continues always following the course of the Meduna, reaching the abandoned villages of Frassaneit di Sopra (where the Frassaneit Shelter is located, obtained from the renovation of the former school building) and of Sotto and, finally, the village of Tramonti di Sopra.
