Discovering Santa Margherita del Gruagno

A very small village, a hamlet in the municipality of Frisanco, it is a veritable open-air museum made of pillars with sculpted stone, stairways, wooden balconies and stone arches that create a perfect harmony with the surrounding nature and give a sense of intimacy and focus in the small courts enclosed on themselves.
This rural architecture includes sixteenth-century stone houses of several floors with different uses, each leaning against each other and with beautiful inner courtyards.
Thanks to the simplicity of its houses and the lack of noble buildings, in 2002 it was listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and became a destination for tourists who are curious to discover it, especially during the Christmas period when it becomes an authentic nativity scene.
