Not just snow in Sauris

Every time I go there, Sauris surprises me: I always find something interesting and stimulating. I bring home so many good memories and am determined to return as soon as possible. But I have to admit it, with the snow it has a charm all its own and new to me.

The warm colours of autumn have given way to a uniform white on all the peaks around and on the now white meadows in which we now walk on the snow. But Sauris is not just snow or mountains, but also relaxation at the  Borgo dello Sport e del Benessere, where I found a very warm and welcoming facility. There are numerous activities dedicated to individual well-being in a very relaxing environment and in this period it also offers a breathtaking view of the snow-covered forest as a bonus. Here you can find a beautiful swimming pool with waterfalls and hydromassage, a Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath and various sensory showers.

Thanks to the collaboration between the Wellness Centre, the Albergo Diffuso Sauris and AISA (Italian Association of Saunas and Aufguss), every weekend you can try the experience of aufguss with sauna teachers approved by Aisa.

For me it was very relaxing to try the steam scented with essential oils, sense the meditative incense and test the white sweet Cervia salt scrubs with rose petals, prepared with great skill by Francesco. Also recommended are the various massages that are skilfully undertaken by Gianna using essential oils, precious stones and minerals, in a truly relaxing environment. The massage done with the feet is very unusual, as the one in the water in the luminous swimming pool. I think the most original experience, at least here in Friuli, is the hay bath. Fresh, fermenting grass stimulates a strong purifying sweat; with the humid heat that is released from the hay, the active ingredients contained in the medicinal plants are effectively absorbed by the body. Here is one more confirmation that Sauris is a place where relaxation and well-being are well-established.
