Autumn weekends in Sauris: foliage and relaxation

Autumn in Friuli is a particularly magical season, especially in hilly areas and in the mountains, where the landscape becomes multicoloured. The leaves of the trees take on warm colours and the hilltops become gold and red, making the surrounding landscape even more interesting for those who, like me, love nature and outdoor life. This year I was able to admire the wonderful phenomenon of the autumn foliage in Sauris, staying in a splendid apartment of the Albergo Diffuso, which was the first in Italy and an example for many similar ventures in the region and beyond.

The experience of even a short holiday in an Albergo Diffuso is something I recommend, because in a beautiful and cosy apartment, equipped with every comfort and located among the houses of the village, you can live the atmosphere of the place taking part in village life. At the same time, I can take everything at my own pace, as though I were in my own home. In the lodging I was given, apart from a lovely bedroom set in a large loft, there was also a fireplace, with wood available, to warm the space with a pleasing fire in the hearth. For those who love a sauna, they will also find a designer one here that is intimate, suitable for couples or a small group of friends.

The autumn colours in Sauris have just begun and the spectacle that will be enjoyed in the coming weeks will be more and more beautiful, with the trees’ leaves gradually changing from green to yellow, orange, red and brown before falling to the ground.
